Australia Day Book Giveaway Blog Hop

Welcome to the Australia Day Book Giveaway Blog Hop

australiadaybloghop (1)

To celebrate Australia Day on January 26th, the fabulous Shellyrae of Book’d Out organised an awesome Aussie author, reader and reviewer blog hop. I love Australia Day – especially the fact our shop closes and I can get in some extra reading time – and so was excited about taking part.

If you’re one of my overseas readers and want to know what this crazy thing called Australia Day is, you can read more here!

Basically most of the people I know, use it as a day to relax off work, get together with family and friends, which often involves a good old Aussie bbq and a few drinks. In Perth we have an awesome Skyworks show on the Swan River foreshore with music and fireworks and I can’t wait till the day I get up the guts to face the crowds and take my kids.

To celebrate all things Aussie, I’m giving away a Rachael Johns book pack and bag (including signed copies of MAN DROUGHT and JILTED) to a random commenter who will be chosen via Random.org My contest is open to comments all over the globe! If you can leave your email address that would be fab, otherwise be sure to check back here next week when I’ll announce the winner 🙂

  1. I’m making a pavlova today for a bbq tomorrow. My DH is working at the Australia Day festivities at Darling Harbour (he’s a cameraman so he’s filming them!)

  2. Happy Australia Day to you Rach! The WA wheatbelt’s Barbara Cartland (I sure hope that was you!) and a top 10 favourite Aussie author!

  3. Would love to win this prize. I have been wanting to read your books since we started interacting on twitter. I hope Yi have a fabulous Australia Day, I am looking forward to a romantic dinner with my fiancé (baby free for once!!) and I am pretty excited.

  4. Today, the 24th, was my birthday, and now that it’s the 25th here, it’s yours. Happy birthday and Happy Australia Day. Oddly enough, another former British Colony, India, celebrates the 26th of this month as Republic Day. Must be a former colony thing!

  5. Wow, what a fantastic prize, thank you so much for the opportunity to enter this. The Aust Day Book Giveaway Hop is such a unique idea and is so far proving to be so much fun! Congratulations on coming tenth in the Booktopia blog search for Australia’s Favourite Novelist, its such a fantastic achievement! Also facebook tells me its your birthday, so Happy Birthday! Both your books have come highly recommended, so I can wait to read them 🙂 Have a great Australia Day 🙂

  8. I have had an amazing run of luck with reading awesome books so far this year, and I’m so excited to say that it’s been largely thanks to some Aussie authors, such as yourself. Keep up the great work, and hope you have a great Australia Day.

  9. I love Australia Day – 26th January 1970 was the day I first set foot on Aussie soil – 26th January 1983 I became a citizen. I get more and more immersed in my adopted culture every year – including hosting an Australia Day BBQ each year. I am also participating in the Australian Women Writer reading challenge and am in love with our Australian writers – have made so many new discoveries.

  10. Happy Austrlia Day, hope you have a wonderful day! Thank you very much for the giveaway and for making it international 🙂

  11. Must admit Australia Day/long weekends don’t make a great deal of difference when living/working on an outback property but do hope everyone has a great time and stays safe -which is the most important thing.

  19. Just wanted to say I read Man Drought and could not put it down. Fantastic book was one of your first books that I had ever read, now need to get Jilted. Great storyline and I love the character of Imogen so strong and independant. And her friends reminded me of mine…

  20. Thanks for the give away. Great reading weather here in Brisbane today – we’re mildly flooded at the front door and mildly flooded at the back so I couldn’t go out if I wanted to.

  21. Thank you very much! I`m in love with this giveaway! 🙂 I`m from Europe and I`m non-native English speaker; there is not a very big choice of books in English here (except online shops) and they`re usually from American and British writers so this is a very beautiful opportunity to get to know the Australian writers 🙂
    Thanks!

    Snowy greetings from Latvia,

  24. My daughter has just introduced me to your books. I’m sure I will enjoy them as I grew up in the northern wheat belt of good ol’ WA.

  25. Awesome give away, i have not been able to find Man Drought in a book store near me – Timaru NZ but have read Jilted so many times i think ive memorised it but still love reading it and it still makes me cry!
